State Advocacy Day
Event: Annual, Spring 

IL YMCA State Advocacy Day brings YMCA staff and volunteers together in the state capitol. Our goals for Advocacy Day are to:

• Create visibility for the Y and its important work in communities across IL at the state capitol
• Cultivate legislators and strengthen existing relationships with the Y
• Educate legislators about the impact the Y has in more than 150 communities across the state
• Advocate to legislators on legislation that will impact the work of YMCAs (e.g., child care regulations, tax issues)
• Energize YMCA staff, members and volunteers by considering common issues, sharing experiences and collecting new ideas
